Your Role: Sales Development Representative (SDR)

As an SDR at CometChat, you will play a crucial individual contributor role directly impacting company growth and revenue. You will engage with Indian and global clients—including startups and enterprises innovating with modern tech—and drive the early stages of our sales pipeline. Your work will help convert interest into meaningful product demos that open doors for business growth.

Core Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute outreach by segmenting prospects, crafting personalized sequences and messages tailored for maximum impact.
  • Generate and maintain targeted lead lists, proactively moving prospects through the sales pipeline.
  • Engage prospects using diverse channels such as email, LinkedIn, and cold calling to spark interest.
  • Qualify leads rigorously by defined criteria to convert them into Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs).
  • Maintain proactive, persistent communication, offering prospects relevant information facilitating faster decisions.
  • Leverage marketing collateral, case studies, and product content effectively to support engagement.
  • Gather insights from prospects to inform and refine marketing content creation.
  • Provide weekly and semi-weekly status reports to the founding team.
  • Meticulously maintain CRM systems with up-to-date prospect data, progress, and reporting to support the sales rhythm.

Who We Are Looking For

Ideal candidates possess:

  • 0-1 years of experience as an SDR, preferably in B2B tech startups.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; organized and detail-focused.
  • Data-driven aptitude with the ability to make informed decisions independently.
  • Experience selling products with annual contracts worth USD 10K+ is a plus.
  • Passionate, enthusiastic, and approachable personality with engaging phone and email presence.
  • Quick learner with technical proficiency and problem-solving skills, able to navigate software tools adeptly.
  • Experience with CRM platforms for email marketing and reporting.
