The Role: Test Engineer L1

As a Test Engineer L1, you’ll be essential to the product and platform delivery process at client sites, ensuring our solutions meet and exceed robust Quality Assurance parameters. Your work will drive flawless deployments, minimize bugs, and improve user experiences across varied sectors.

Your Purpose

You will own the testing lifecycle—from understanding requirements to designing and executing test cases, to automation and reporting. You’ll collaborate with development engineers, engage with stakeholders, and provide strategic feedback that sharpens our products. Main Responsibilities

Understand and capture test requirements: Work closely with product, design, and development teams to clarify testable business requirements, then translate these into thorough, peer-reviewed test cases.
Author and execute the test plan: Use insights into business cases and platform nuances to design a robust plan that covers traditional and edge use cases.
Implement Model Based Testing: Drive efficient, repeatable, and scalable test generation using Wipro’s proprietary frameworks.
Peer review and automation: Ensure your test cases are double-checked and automate where feasible—using VB macros, scheduled tasks, GUI automation, and more.
Collaborate and communicate: Partner with development teams to ensure proper versioning, coordinate on UAT, and contribute to risk assessment and feedback sessions.
Automate the Test Life Cycle: Harness automation tools at appropriate stages to drive speed, reliability, and data-driven insights throughout the pipeline.
Defect reporting and analysis: Raise precise bugs and defect reports, including replication steps, ensuring clarity and actionable outcomes for engineering teams.
Monitor and release dashboards: After each test cycle, generate status updates and visual dashboards for project stakeholders, tracking execution, test coverage, and issue resolution.
Usability and serviceability feedback: Map results to quality risk and communicate valuable UX feedback to stakeholders.
Customer engagement: Maintain high standards in communication with clients via emails, calls, and documented reports, using business etiquette and tracking fault reports efficiently.
Status reporting: Keep dashboards, trackers, and repositories current with daily, weekly, and cycle-wise activity reports.
Documentation: Log efforts in project trackers such as eCube and TMS, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
On-Time Delivery: Consistently deliver test execution reports and dashboards within promised timelines.

Performance Parameters

Your success will be measured through:

Error-free test design and minimum process exceptions
100% SLA compliance and automation levels
On-time delivery of testing solutions and efficiency in troubleshooting
Quality of testing outputs, customer satisfaction scores (CSAT), and rapid turnaround time (TAT)
Ability to minimize bug slippage and perform within or better than Wipro and customer SLAs

Skills Required

Mandatory Skill: Performance Testing—hands-on experience with performance test case creation, execution, analysis, and reporting is essential.
Testing Tools and Automation: Experience with VB macros, GUI automation, and modern test frameworks is valued.
Collaboration: Strong communication skills, the ability to review code/test cases, and willingness to work cross-functionally.
Detailed Reporting: Ability to document, visualize, and present test results in a clear fashion, using dashboards and status reports.
