Your Role: Software Engineer I
In this entry-level engineering position, you’ll join a high-performing team focused on designing, developing, testing, and debugging software for Verisk’s diverse portfolio of analytics products. You’ll play a central part in the full software development life cycle, from requirements analysis and technical specification authoring to refining, testing, and supporting applications that tackle real-world challenges for insurance, risk, and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development: Design and build high-quality, scalable software applications to meet customer needs. Write, test, and debug code in alignment with business requirements.
- Requirements Analysis: Participate in design meetings, collaborate with stakeholders and users, and gather technical requirements central to solution building.
- Technical Specification: Assist in preparing technical documentation to support conceptual design and requirements, ensuring clarity throughout the development process.
- Testing & Debugging: Refine, troubleshoot, and debug software solutions, proactively analyzing code to identify and resolve system errors.
- Product Mastery: Continuously increase your knowledge of Verisk’s products and services, understanding both the technical and business impact.
- Collaborative Engineering: Contribute in agile software development teams, take part in peer code reviews, and learn best practices for scalable and maintainable solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
- Experience: 0–2 years in the software industry; prior work at a product company is a valued plus.
- Technical Stack:
- Strong grasp of OOPs concepts (preferably in C# .NET)
- Proficiency in JavaScript, crucial for front-end and web application development
- Solid database knowledge (SQL Server or other relational technologies)
